A new state law now lets police officers activate high-tech bracelets worn by a child or adult with disabilities that can help them locate a missing child or adult. A family member would first have to file a missing-persons report with police, who can then activate the bracelet. That, in turn, dials 911 which will provide the person’s location. It was previously illegal for the tracking devices to call 911.
